Today's random BBC article talked about blondes being more aggressive than women of other hair color. It went on to elaborate that men tend to treat blondes better than other women (some sort of perceived fertility thing), but that blondes tend to earn less than other women. Sooo. . . .
Does this mean that the optimal strategy is to be blond young and then darker haired after one settles down? I noticed my hair basically did that on its own; does this make me genetically superior? ;) Below is the link to the article, for what it's worth.

My blogs are back!
Not that anyone was wondering, but just in case anyone else has the same snafoo happen, my came back by themselves in my Blogger reader within hours of when I noticed the problem. All by themselves. Didn't have to report anything to anybody. Either that, or a mysterious person read my last post and fixed it for me . . .
Blogger bug; yet another reason for a spare brain
My list of blogs I follow totally vanished from Blogger sometime in the last 24 hrs (or less). There's a bit of chatter on the topic dating back to December 2, 2009, in the Google help forums, but I'm not quite ready to post my URL to the list of people asking for help. Not because I don't need help, just that I can't decide which URL to post . . . ;)
Anyway, it looks like it's time to do things the old-fashioned way, relatively speaking: time to check the blogs by using the links I've built into the sidebar of this blog. Thank goodness for backups!

Taking charge of life, one step at a time
Today I rescheduled a plethora of tiny doctor appointments for the kids (all part of the vaccination routine) into one big appointment on the same day. My life has suddenly become much simpler, or at least the forecast has improved substantially over the next two weeks, just from that one phone call.
Yesterday, I encountered a problematic situation and actually acted! Details omitted for privacy reasons, but the end result was that I actually dealt with something rather than just worrying about it and doing nothing. Now, to find a way to transfer this accomplishment mode to apply to house work . . .

We need a dog
This is what I have decided today, that we need a dog. I mean really, Really, REALLY NEED one. Unfortunately, will be at least another 3 years before we can think of having one. Why do we need one? Let's just say it has something to do with cleaning up toddler-cracked eggs for the second time in one week . . . I guess we could make do with a lock for the refrigerator.

Success, at least in the cross stitch world
Today for the very first time every I actually completed a cross stitch and it is now hanging on a wall in our home. It is the third counted cross stitch project I have undertaken, and I started it back in Feb or Mar 2007, but I have finished it! Next move: got Amanda a mini cross stitch to try &, what else?, picked up another cross stitch for myself.
